Priority Photocards
Just a reminder that in order to maintain safety levels on the school bus service we ensure all students travelling by a school service bus have a Priority Photocard (a school bus travel card) for every academic year.
Bus drivers have been told to check that students have their priority photocard regularly when they board the bus – please ensure all students have their priority photocard on them.
Priority photocards provide information to the School Bus Network at West Yorkshire Combined Authority of how many students require transport to adjust the amount of buses and routes accordingley.
If you need to apply for a priority photocard, please click the following link: https://metro.flexiroute.net/app_form_new_secondary.html. There is no cost associated with this.
If you are unsure which service to choose, please click this link: https://www.wymetro.com/your-school/a-z-school-finder/b/beckfoot-school/
Please can we remind students that they must be positive ambassadors for Beckfoot when travelling to and from school, this includes on the school bus service following our PLS. Students are expected to behave in a sensible, mature manner.
We aim to ensure that everyone travelling on school transport is safe and gets to and from school on time.
School bus fare increases
From Sunday, 30 March 2025, school bus fares in West Yorkshire will increase following a review of bus fares for under 19s by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The single fare on most secondary school bus services will rise from £1.20 to £1.60.
Prices for MCard, MyDay, MyWeek, MyMonth, MyAcademicYear and MyYear tickets will also increase.
This change will make sure all students across the region are paying the same fare, no matter how they travel to school or college. While we appreciate this may impact families, these fares have remained unchanged since September 2020, despite rising service costs.
