For those of you who are new to Young Musician, it is our annual music competition where students compete to become the Beckfoot Young Musician of the year!
You can enter the competition as a solo musician or as a group (ensemble). Anyone can enter the competition, regardless of how long you have been playing.
The first round of the competition, known as the heats, start FROM the 27th of January onwards and will be judged by the Beckfoot music teachers.
If you progress from the heats, you will then go into the final! This will be held in the school hall on Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 6:30pm. The final is judged by a panel of expert musicians and past young musician winners.
From each of the key stages, one musician from each instrument category, plus 3 ensembles, will progress to the final.
The deadline for applications is Friday the 24th of January, so make sure you get your entry in before entries close.

Once the submission deadline closes, you will be sent a time slot via class charts, to come down to the music department and perform in the heats.
